Forgiveness

What do you do when somebody hurts you? Do you want to hurt him back or do you hold it against that person for the rest of your life? If you answer yes to these questions, know that you are like most people. To forgive is something that people generally have difficulty with.

Why don't people forgive readily? Here's why, because it is easier to hate than to forgive. Some people think to forgive is a sign of weakness, but let me tell you, it is not. To forgive takes courage and extra effort.

What is forgiveness? It is a gift from a generous heart. Forgiveness is not a reward. It is not something that you give to someone based on his good behavior. It is something that you give to a person irrespective of whether he has deserved it or not. Forgiveness is also not based on whether the person has asked for forgiveness. Also know this. Forgiveness is not an event, which starts and concludes when you say the words, "I forgive you". Forgiveness is an act and a process, which often takes time. The deeper your hurt the longer it usually takes to completely forgive. It is an act because it is not just the words you say but it is your actions which will show if you've really forgiven.

A fine example of someone who embodies true forgiveness is former South African president Nelson Mandela. Mandela was imprisoned by the former all-white South African government for 27 years. Upon his release Mandela surprised the whole world when he showed no bitterness towards his jailers. That is truly remarkable.

Why is it necessary to forgive? Forgiveness releases you from the burden of bitterness and hate. It takes enormous energy to hate and to keep that hate in place. Forgiveness brings freedom whereas revenge is neither sweet nor gratifying, its just a hollow feeling.

Hate puts unnecessary stress on your body. It is a well-known fact, proven by numerous studies, that bitterness and hate can actually make you sick. A great number of people in the world don't really belong in a hospital, because the root of their problem is not physical but is mental. The moment they forgive and let go of their hate they will start to get well.

There is another reason why you need to forgive. If you don't forgive you actually prevent blessings from flowing to you. The Bible says that before you pray for anything first forgive those who wronged you, and then your Father in heaven will forgive you your wrongs. So there you can see that blessings are closely connected to your forgiving others.

I have personal experience of this. I used to be very cynical about life and didn't forgive easily. At the time I also struggled in every area of my life. Things just didn't seem to work out for me. It is as if everything that could go wrong, always went wrong. That was until somebody told me to take a look at my attitude. And when I forgave those who wronged me and changed my attitude, everything else changed. It didn't happen overnight. It took a while, but I could see and feel the difference.

Now you may ask how do you know when you've really forgiven someone? Here's the key. If after you've "forgiven" that person you still experience a negative sting whenever you think of him or her, it means you still have work to do. If however you don't have negative feelings towards that person it means you are free. Are things not working out in your life, despite you doing all the "right" things? Is it possible that you have unforgiveness in your heart? It is certainly something to think about!

Gift of Life

One little boy came up to his mother and handed her a piece of paper. After his mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it:-

For cleaning up my room this week Rs.05.00- Baby-sitting for my kid brother Rs.10.00- For going to the store for you Rs.02.00- Taking out the garbage Rs.00.50- For getting a good report card Rs.10.00- For helping in kitchen Rs.00.25 Total owed: Rs.27.75

His mother looked at him standing there, expectantly. She picked up the pen, turned the paper over and wrote:-

Nine months I carried you while you were inside me : No Charge- The times I’ve sat with you, doctored and prayed for you : No Charge- For all the tears that you’ve caused through the years : No Charge- For all the nights that were filled with dread and the worries : No Charge I know were ahead- For the toys, food, cloth, and even wiping your nose, there’s : No Charge- And when you add it all up, the full cost of real love is : No Charge

When the son finished reading what his mother had written there were great big tears in his eyes. He looked straight at his mother and said, "Mom, I sure do love you." And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote, "PAID IN FULL".

Love-filled actions should always be unconditional.

Woman in me

Hii Friends !!..I read this poem in some blog.. and I was deeply touched by the beautiful lines.. thought of sharing with u all

THE WOMAN IN ME

SHE often asks mewhen can she be free
she asks me if a day would ever comewhen she can be her true self..
when she can actually show the world what she is the day when she no longer pretends..
she asks me if such a day would come
when she no longer fears to test her limits..
when she no longer would be afraid to venture out alone at any hour of the day..
she asks me if i can assure her that she is safe and secure
and there is no one waiting to bruise her soul which is free of malice and pure...
she is afraid of the glares and comments..
the remarks often thrown at herat almost every street and round evey corner
those diabolic eyes of those scorpions ready to bite herscare her even more...
and she asks me whether a day would come
when she would not face all this anymore..
she asks me if a day would come when she no longer would need to hide..
.she asks me if she would ever be able to overcome her fear of being taken in for a ride..
she asks me these questions and they are left unanswered
SHE is the WOMAN in me who no longer feels safe and free..

Wisdom

I feared being alone... until I learned to like myself.
I feared failure... until I realized that I only fail when I don't try.
I feared success... until I realized that I had to try in order to be happy with myself.
I feared peoples opinions... until I learned that people would have opinions about me anyway.
I feared rejection... until I learned to have faith in myself.
I feared pain... until I learned that it's necessary for growth.
I feared the truth... until I saw the ugliness in lies.
I feared life... until I experienced its beauty.
I feared my destiny... until I realized that I had the power to change my life.
I feared hate... until I realized it was nothing more than ignorance.
I feared love... until it touched my heart making the darkness fade into endless sunny days.
I feared ridicule... until I learned to laugh at myself.
I feared growing old... until I realized that I gained Wisdom everyday.
I feared the future... until I realized that life just kept getting better everyday.
I feared the past... until I realized that it could no longer hurt me.
I feared the darkness... until I saw the beauty of the starlight.
I feared the light... until I learned that the truth would give me strength.
I feared change... until I saw that even the most beautiful butterfly had to undergo a metamorphosis before it could fly.

ATTITUDE THAT ONE NEEDS TO DEVELOP :

1. When Snake is alive, Snake eats Ants. When Snake is dead, Ants eat Snake.
Time can turn at any time. Don't neglect anyone in your life........ . ...

2. Never make the same mistake twice, There are so many new ones.
Try a different one each day.

3. A good way to change someone's attitude is to change your own.Because, the same sun that melts butter, also hardens clay!

Life is as we think, so think beautifully.

4. Life is just like a sea, we are moving without an end.

Nothing stays with us, what remains is just the memories of some people who touched us as Waves.

5. Whenever you want to know how rich you are?

Never count your currency, just try to Drop a Tear and count how many hands reach out to WIPE that- that is true richness.

6. Heart tells the eyes see less, because you see and I suffer lot.

Eyes replied, feel less because you feel and I cry a lot.

7. Never change your originality for the sake of others, because no one can play your role better than you.

So be yourself, because whatever you are, YOU are the best.

8. Baby mosquito came back after 1st time flying. His dad asked him "How do you feel?"He replied "It was wonderful, Everyone was clapping for me!"

Now that’s a Positive Attitude.

The Socrates Triple Filter Test

In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?" "Hold on a minute," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything, I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple filter?"

"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test."

"The first filter is TRUTH. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?" "No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..."

'All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of GOODNESS. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?"

"No, on the contrary..."

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left: the filter of USEFULNESS. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really."

"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?"

Friends, use this triple filter each time you hear loose talk about any of your near & dear.

Interview with god

I dreamed I had an interview with God.

"So you would like to interview me?" God asked.

"If you have the time" I said.

God smiled. "My time is eternity."

"What questions do you have in mind for me?"

"What surprises you most about humankind?"

God answered..."That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, and thenlong to be children again."

"That they lose their health to make money...and then lose their money to restore their health."

"That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neitherthe present nor the future."

"That they live as if they will never die,and die as though they had never lived."

God's hand took mineand we were silent for a while.

And then I asked..."As a parent, what are some of life's lessonsyou want your children to learn?"

"To learn they cannot make anyonelove them. All they can dois let themselves be loved."

"To learn that it is not goodto compare themselves to others."

"To learn to forgiveby practicing forgiveness."

"To learn that it only takes a few secondsto open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them."

"To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least."

"To learn that there are peoplewho love them dearly, but simply have not yet learnedhow to express or show their feelings."

"To learn that two people canlook at the same thingand see it differently."

"To learn that it is not enough that theyforgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves."

"Thank you for your time," I said humbly.

"Is there anything elseyou would like your children to know?"

God smiled and said,"Just know that I am here... always."

How can I prepare myself for fulfilling life?

I am me.

In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. There are people who have some parts like me but no one adds up exactly like me. Therefore, everything that comes out of me is authentically mine because I alone choose it.

I own everything about me—my body, including everything it does; my mind, including all my thoughts and ideas; my eyes, including the images of all they behold; my feelings, whatever they might be—anger, joy, frustration, love, disappointment, excitement; my mouth and all the words that come out of it—polite, sweet and rough, correct or incorrect; my voice, loud and soft; all my actions, whether they be to others or myself.

I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears.

I own all my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes.

Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me. By so doing, I can love me and be friendly with me in all my parts. I can then make it possible for all of me to work in my best interests.

I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know. But as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for the solutions to the puzzles and for ways to find out more about me.

However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is me. This is authentic and represents where I am at that moment in time.
When I review later how I looked and sounded, what I said and did, and how I thought and felt, some parts may turn out to be unfitting. I can discard that which is unfitting and keep that which proved fitting, and invent something new for that which I discarded.

I can see, hear, feel, think, say and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me.

I own me and therefore I can engineer me.

I am me and I am okay.

Peace of Mind

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers. This was in the initial days. While they were traveling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.”

The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!” So he came back and told Buddha, “The water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink.”

After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had absolutely clear water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said,
“See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be…. and the mud settled down on its own – and you got clear water. Your mind is also like that! When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.”

What did Buddha emphasize here? He said, “It is effortless.” Having ‘Peace of Mind’ is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process!

Have a peaceful Life !

9 Insights of the Wealthy Soul

Here is a summary of "9 Insights of the Wealthy Soul":

Insight 1: INSIGHT

Just as a tree begins with a seed, so too, is Insight the "seed" that begins your transformation. One of the greatest insights is simply the knowledge that "You Can." You CAN overcome your greatest challenges. You CAN transform your dreams into your own living, breathing reality. You CAN create a new life for yourself and your loved ones.

Insight 2: TIMING

The saying "Timing is everything" is not just a nice expression. Without developing excellent timing, you will always be fighting the natural ebb and flow of the universe. Just as most seeds sprout on a particular day in springtime, YOU can develop the ability to recognize the precise day of spring for all you do.
Whether asking for a raise, launching a business venture, or bringing up a difficult subject to a friend, loved one or business partner, your ability to recognize the often brief moments of maximum opportunity will determine how much success and balance you achieve.

Insight 3: PATIENCE

Only humans are impatient. Seeds do not attempt to turn into trees in winter. Eagles don't try to soar during lightening storms. And Mayflowers do not blossom in August. Developing patience - your ability to wait for the right moment in your life cycle to accomplish a particular task or goal - is all important to develop excellent timing and great success.

Insight 4: SURRENDER

What must you do to let go of your need to control things? How can you let go of your past mistakes and history that may be preventing you from moving forward? How do you spiritually surrender to "the process?"
Without spiritual surrender, you will never be content, you will never have patience and excellent timing. You will never experience the joy and "flow" of having the greatest business and life partner you could ever possibly have: namely, "The Universe" and "God."

Insight 5: GROUNDING

With strong roots, a tree will survive any storm. When YOU create a strong foundation, your greatest efforts will withstand the many storms and challenges you inevitably face in achieving your goals.
Grounding is what you use to nourish and nurture your goals. Grounding is the books, tapes, schooling, seminars, and people you surround yourself with to support yourself in whatever you want to achieve.
Want to have a great relationship? Learn from those who already have one. Want to earn a million dollars? Read books, listen to tapes, and receive coaching by those who show you how. When you have ample "grounding" to support your dreams, the challenges that come along are merely temporary storms that ultimately make you stronger and more highly energized.

Insight 6: BALANCE

This is a tough one, especially for the most successful people. Even when a tree is well developed, without regular water, sunshine and nourishment, it will not be healthy. What must you do to balance yourself?
How much sunshine do you get? How much exercise do you regularly do? How nourishing is your diet? How much quiet time do you take on a daily basis with yourself and your loved ones?
Life is a balancing act. Isn't the minute, hour, day or month you save by working through your natural point of balance just another minute, hour, day or month you subtract from your lifetime?
Take breaks to smell the roses along the way, and in fact, you'll naturally discover the universe rises up to become your partner rather than it being you against the world.

Insights 7, 8 & 9

GROWTH automatically occurs in direct proportion to your ability to empower yourself with the first 6 Insights.
EVOLUTION blossoms when your growth takes you to a new and higher stage of life, unfolding a powerful Vision of your life you probably never foresaw.
TRANSFORMATION occurs when you become something very different than that which you started off as. Your initial seeds of Insight become a tree of knowledge and accomplishment. You are ready for something greater than achieving for your own personal gain.

You, the student, become the teacher, the mentor, the leader. You are the vessel of seeds to birth a new generation. You enjoy the glow of knowing you have followed your highest path that ultimately leads you to helping others follow theirs.

All along, you have been transforming into a balanced, wealthy and fulfilled human being.

All along, you have been transforming yourself into a "Wealthy Soul."

Yours for the greatest wealth of all.

Be Someone

Be someone who listens, and you will be heard.
Be someone who cares, and you will be loved.
Be someone who gives, and you will be blessed.
Be someone who comforts, and you will know peace.
Be someone who genuinely seeks to understand, and you will be wise.
Be someone kind, someone considerate, and you will be admired.
Be someone who values truth, and you will be respected.
Be someone who takes action, and you will move life forward
Be someone who lifts others higher, and your life will be rich.
Be someone filled with gratitude, and there will be no end to the things for whichyou'll be thankful
Be someone who lives with joy, with purpose, as your own light brightly shines.
Be, in every moment, the special someone you are truly meant to be.

Women

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him."I don't understand," he said.

His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said: "When I made the woman she had to be special.I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly. And finally, I gave her a tear to shed.

This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed.""You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

Hope this story makes a BIG change in YOU

Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.He held it up for all to see & asked the students "How much do you think this glass weighs?"'50gms!' ..... '100gms!' .....'125gms' ..

the students answered."I really don't know unless I weigh it," said the professor, "but, my question is:What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?"

'Nothing' ..the students said.

'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor asked. 'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the student

"You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?"

"Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to hospital for sure!".. ventured another student & all the students laughed

"Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?"asked the professor.
'No'. Was the answer."Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?"

The students were puzzled.

"What should I do now to come out of pain?" asked professor again.

"Put the glass down!" said one of the students

"Exactly!" said the professor.

Life's problems are something like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK.Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything. It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to 'PUT THEM DOWN' at the end of every day before You go to sleep. That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!

'PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY! '

Who is Hindering your growth?

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big Notice on the door on which it as written: “Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym.”

In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself. The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up.

Everyone thought: “Who is this guy who was hindering my progress?” “Well, at least he died!”

There was a mirror inside the coffin: Everyone who looked inside it could see himself. There was also a sign next to the mirror that said: “There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: It is YOU.”
You are the only person who can revolutionise your life.
You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realisation and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself.
Your life does not change, when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your parents change, when your partner changes, when your company changes.
Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life.
“Examine yourself, watch yourself, handle yourself well in front of others.”
“Don't be afraid of difficulties, impossibilities and losses: Be a winner, build yourself and your reality.”
“The most important relationship you can have; is the one you have with yourself.” I
t is not what happens to us, it's the way we choose to handle life that makes the difference.

The 99 Club

This is an inspiring and interesting story i got to read in an article...Just wanted to share with all of you...

THE 99 CLUB

Some time ago, there lived a King. This King should have been contented with his life, given all the riches and luxuries he had. However, this was not the case! The King always found himself wondering why he just never seemed content with his life.
Sure, he had the attention of everyone wherever he went, attended fancy dinners and parties, but somehow, he still felt something was lacking and he couldn't put his finger on it.
One day, the King had woken up earlier than usual to stroll around his palace. He entered his huge living room and came to a stop when he heard someone happily singing away... following this singing... he saw one of the servants singing with a very contented look on his face.
This fascinated the King and he summoned this man to his chambers. The man entered the King's chambers as or dered. The King asked why him he was so happy? To this the man replied:
"Your Majesty, I am nothing but a servant, but I make enough of a living to keep my wife and children happy. We don't need too much; a roof over our heads and warm food to fill our stomach. My wife and children are my inspiration, they are content with what ever little I bring home. I am happy because my family is happy."
Hearing this, the King dismissed the servant and summoned his personal advisor to his chamber. The King told him of his predicament and then related the story of the servant, hoping that the advisor will be able to come up with some reason why the King, who could have any thing he wished for at the snap of his fingers, was not content, whereas, his servant, having so little, seemed the picture of contentment.
The personal advisor listened attentively and came to a conclusion. He said, "Your Majesty, I believe that the servant has not been made part of The 99 Club."
"The 99 Club? And what exactly is that?" the King inquired. Feb 18 (1 day ago) Deepti The advisor replied, "Your Majesty, to truly know what The 99 Club is, you will have to do the following. Place 99 gold coins in a bag and leave it at the servant's doorstep and you will come to under stand what The 99 Club is."
That very same evening, the King arranged for 99 gold coins to be placed in a bag at the servant's doorstep. He was a little hesitant and thought that he should have put 100 gold coins into the bag, but he followed his advisor’s suggestion to put only 99.
The servant was just stepping out of his house when he saw a bag at his doorstep. Wondering about its contents, he took it into his house and opened the bag. When he opened the bag, he let out a great big shout of joy, ‘Gold coins... so many of them!’ He could hardly believe it. He called his wife to show her the coins.
He then took the bag to a table and emptied it out and began to count the coins and found that there seemed to be 99. He thought this to be an odd number and a little strange and so he counted again… and again… and again - only to come to the same conclusion.. . 99 gold coins.
He began to wonder, ‘What could have happened to that last one coin?’ For no one would leave 99 coins. He began to search his entire house and even looked around his backyard for hours, not wanting to lose out on that one coin
Finally, exhausted, he decided that he was going to have to work harder than ever to make up for that one gold coin to make his entire collection a magical 100 gold coins.
The next morning he got up late in an extremely horrible mood, shouting at the children and his wife for his delay, not realizing that he had spent most of the night conjuring ways of working hard so that he could make enough money to buy himself that gold coin. He went to work as usual - not in his usual good mood, singing happily – and grumpily carried out his daily errands. The King was puzzled to see the man's attitude changed so drasti cally. He promptly sum moned his advisor. The King could not believe that the servant, who until yesterday had been singing away, happy and content with his life, had taken such a sudden change of mind, even though he should have been happier after receiving the gold coins.
The advisor replied "Ah! But your Majesty, the servant has now officially joined The 99 Club." He explained: "The 99 Club is just a name given to those people who have everything but yet are never contented. Therefore, they are always working hard and striving for that extra one to round it up to 100!”
“We have so much to be thankful for and we can live with very little in our lives, but the minute we are given something bigger and better, we want even more! We are not the same happy contented person we used to be, we want more and more and by wanting more and more we don't realize the price we pay for it. We lose our sleep, our happiness; we hurt the people around us just as a price to pay for our growing needs and desires. That is what joining The 99 Club is all about."
MORAL
Observing this powerful, real life example, the King decided that from that day onwards, he was going to start appreciating all the little things in life and count the many blessings that he had taken for granted.

Striving for more is always good, but let us not strive so hard that we lose all that is dear to our hearts. Let us not compromise our happiness for moments of luxury! Let us remember Swami's words,

“Happiness results not when desires are fulfilled, but when they are controlled.”

Mayonnaise jar & 2 cups of Coffee

Recently a very good friend of mine shared below story with me..I was very impressed by the story and thought of sharing with u all....

When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle,When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly,He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jarAnd proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students, if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and pouredthem into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.Of course, the sand filled up everything else.He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectivelyfilling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
‘Now,’ said the professor, as the laughter subsided,‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - family, children, health, Friends, and Favorite passionsThings that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.
The sand is everything else –The small stuff.
‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ He continued, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,You will never have room for the things that are important to you.
So…
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.Play With your children.Take time to get medical checkups.Take your partner out to dinner.
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
‘Take care of the golf balls first –The things that really matter.Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.’
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled.‘I’m glad you asked’.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.’
Please share this with other “Golf Balls”I just did……

HIV Spreading from Needles

Recently got a mail from my friend regarding fast spreading HIV virus.Just wanted to share this mail with all of you.

FROM Arvind Khamitkar , I.A.S, Director of Medical & Research Div, Chennai

A few weeks ago, in a movie theatre, a person felt something poking from her seat. When she got up to see what it was, she found a needle sticking out of the seat with a note attached saying
"You have just been infected by HIV".

The Disease Control Center (in Paris ) reports many similar events in many other cities recently. All tested needles were HI V Positive.

The Center also reports that needles have been found in cash dispensers at public banking machines. We ask everyone to use extreme caution when faced with this kind of situation. All public chairs/seats should be inspected with vigilance and caution before use. A careful visual inspection should be enough. In addition, they ask that each of you pass this message along to all members of your family and your friends of the potential danger.

Recently, one doctor has narrated a somewhat similar instance that hppened to one of his patients at the Priya Cinema in Delhi . A young girl, engaged and about to be married in a couple of months, was pricked while the movie was going on. The tag with the needle had the message
"Welcome to the World of HIV family".

Though the doctors told her family that it takes about 6 months before the virus grows strong enough to start damaging the system and a healthy victim could survive about 5-6 years, the girl died in 4 months, perhaps more because of the "Shock thought".

We all have to be careful at public places, rest God help! Just think about saving a life by spreading this message. Please, take a few seconds of your time to pass along.

Be Careful

Be Extremely Careful especially if using internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point presentation 'Life is beautiful.'
If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES , and delete it immediately ... If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful.'
Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password. This is a new virus which have started to circulate
AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the antivirus software's are not capable of destroying it.The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner.

An ATM Tip

If you are ever forced by a thief or someone to take money out of an ATM machine, enter your pin number reversed. So if your number is 1254 mark 4521.

The ATM machine will give you your money, but will automatically recognize this as a plea for help and will alert the police unknown to the thief.

This option is in all ATM machines, but not many people know this

Inconvenience caused by NIIT

I have been pursuing a diploma course in web 2.0 in NIIT Vijayanagar, Bangalore. I had registered for this program in feb 2009. I have already completed (with exams) the flash, dreamweaver and C# courses during the period of feb to aug 2009. however, due to personal travel reasons, I had requested for a break of 2 months. after returing from travel in oct 2009, I tried to enquire and attend the cold fusion and flex courses in NIIT Vijayanagar and/or elsewhere in Bangalore (Koramangala, Jayanagar).
But there was repeated delay in servicing these courses to me. I was being provided tentative dates like november last week, december 2nd week, january 2nd week, february 1st week and so on. Till now there has been a lack of transparency with respect to providing the courses inspite of following it up with group leader. there has been a visible delay in helping me for placements too. I dint receive any job opportunities or interview calls inspite of sending my resume to niit placement co-ordinator.
I have seen that there is a lack of ownership and lack of proper response to my enquiries & requests in the Vijayanagar center and other centers (Jayanagar) in Bangalore. although there is apparently a daily batch going on in koramangala/jayanagar, I am told that I can join that only after 2 weeks. at the time of paying the amount dues and registering for the course, it was agreed that the classes would be conducted in vijayanagar for a period of 3-4 months and classes would be atleast 2 hours for three days a week. Now I am being told that daily classes for only 1 hour each would be held in koramangala which is at a long distance from vijayanagar.
Overall all these institutes just boast good servicing till whole amount is paid. Then the same old story of students suffering from lack of service, lack of response and wasting student's precious time and money...

Noble story to learn from

Ever heard the story of the giant ship engine that failed? The ship's ownerstried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fixthe engine.
Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was ayoungster. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, heimmediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top tobottom.
Two of the ship's owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would knowwhat to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag andpulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into lifeHe carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed! A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars."What?!" the owners exclaimed. "He hardly did anything!"So they wrote the old man a note saying, "Please send us an itemized bill."The man sent a bill that readTapping with a hammer $ 2.00Knowing where to ......... $ 9998.00
Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort in your life makes all the difference.
